INDIVIDUAL SONGWRITINGThis hands-on workshop includes song structure, chord progressions, melodies, idea development and lyric writing. Students will participate in exercises to help develop and strengthen songwriting skills. Everyone is encouraged to bring an instrument, but it is not required.COLLABORATIVE SONGWRITINGThink Lennon & McCartney, Rodgers & Hammerstein, Jagger & Richards. Some of the most highly regarded music of all time was written collaboratively. This class will cover the sometimes delicate task of sharing ideas and critiques while encouraging creativity. Participants will practice different songwriting roles and experiment with "creative negotiations." Enroll by November 30th for one or both workshops.
